A Vintage Murder

This option requires a party of six people to be overnight
guests at Lady Goodwood. With all three of our rooms occupied by cast
members, the evening will be dedicated to solving the murder, as you
progress through a four-course catered dinner.
Cost and Room Rates:
Room rates will be the regular seasonal rates, and the cost of the
Murder Mystery dinner is an additional $40 per person. Included is
coordination and hosting of the murder mystery party, a catered dinner,
a beautiful and romantic room in our Victorian bed & breakfast,
and four-course breakfast in the morning.
The year is 1937. You have been invited to dine in the
sumptuous halls of Château de Reims in the lush wine country
of France. But the promise of a sparkling evening is shattered when
you discover that your host, St. John Sedgwick-Smythe, has been murdered.
All of the guests, including you, were capable of masterminding his
death. You all wished for his untimely demise. Which one of you fermented
the plot for his murder?
The suspects include:
Désirée De Bouze
Beautiful, elegant, self-possessed chatelaine of Château de
Reims, you married St. John Sedgwick-Smyth after seeking solace in
his arms after the death of your father. You two combined your expertise
to consolidate the success of the family vineyard.
Costume Suggestion: Sophisticated, with a dramatic flair for adding
a splash of color to otherwise conventional two-piece suits
Yves Le Concoction
A child prodigy more interested in scientific studies than in the
family wine business, you are happy to let your sister Désirée
run Château de Reims. You are shy and slightly awkward in company,
but are extremely handsome and much sought after by the ladies.
Costume Suggestion: Not interested in convention or fashion, you
usually dismay Desiree with your attire
Henri L'Able
Immensely capable and dependable, you are the estate manager at Château
de Reims. Tanned and muscular, you are envied for your success with
the local women.
Costume Suggestion: Combines sex appeal with smartness, and never
wears a tie with your shirt and blazer
Rose Chintsey-Curten
You are an interior designer whose services are highly sought after
by the fashionable set. Now you are past the full bloom of youth,
but still stunningly attractive and, surprisingly, unattached.
Costume Suggestion: You prefer clothes that have elegant flowing
movements, usually in soft colors
Seymour Hunter-Cove
Mature and distinguished, with a slight limp caused by war wounds,
you are an archetypal English gentleman and much-decorated war hero.
You are a wine merchant based in England, and this is your first trip
back to Paris since 1933.
Costume Suggestion: If not wearing your favorite tweed jacket,
you will probably wear a dinner jacket and be impeccably dressed
Lotte Brenzenbraun
Physically striking, with a cool Teutonic beauty, you have a natural
air of command. Formerly a civil service secretary in Berlin, you
started up a wine business after your two brothers were killed in
the First World War. You have remained unmarried because you have
yet to meet a man strong enough to handle you.
Costume Suggestion: Prepared to shock with your clothing, you always
show off your legs and wear low-cut blouses
*This game is designed for
overnight guests. Allow approximately three hours to complete the
dinner and solve the mystery. Cost is $40 per person, plus the normal
room rate. Many of the costumes are available at Lady Goodwood. Dinner
will be catered by a fine local dining establishment.
